Adam GUNN
ABOUT ME
Born and raised in S.E. England I graduated as a Chemical Engineer and subsequently pursued an international career throughout Africa, China, Russia, CEE and Latin America. I currently live with my wife and two children in Valencia, Spain.

My early experience was in design and project management. Broader horizons came as part of FTSE-100 EXCOM team with leadership roles in procurement, E2E supply-chain, M&A due-diligence, new product development and operational management. Individual and team development, organisational redesign and the integration of corporate & national cultures within the business featured more prominently in recent years.

As a strategic and tactical thinker my personal coaching style works particularly well in situations of ambiguity where there is a rapid-pace of change. I have a proven track-record of establishing effective cross-functional, multi-cultural leadership teams in international companies, whilst maintaining both operational & commercial focus.

Outside of work I enjoy traveling, reading and golf, as well as being an amateur saxophonist.
SERVICES - WHAT TO EXPECT?

Confidentiality:
As an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation ( ICF ) I adhere to the principles and elements of their Code of Ethics https://coachfederation.org/code-of-ethics.
Both Coach and Client should expect to collaborate in a safe, supportive environment of mutual trust and respect, and to be on an equal-footing in the coaching process.

The Coaching Agreement:
To facilitate a successful process Client and Coach should first identify the coachable opportunity and then set the coaching foundation by formally agreeing the scope and boundaries of the engagement and, importantly, mutually agreeing the goal of ‘what success looks likes?’

Assessment:
A number of assessment tools and techniques can be employed to establish the as-is situation, validate the coachable opportunity and frame the next-steps of the coaching process. Existing job descriptions, past performance reviews and personal development plans can be complemented by 360-degree feedback and behaviour style analysis as appropriate.

Coaching Conversations:
A typical coaching assignment consists of a series of conversations conducted every one or two weeks over a 3-6-month period, which can be either face-to-face or remotely. Each conversation will have an expected outcome.
During these conversations Coach and Client will engage in powerful, open-ended questioning, active listening and reflection to fully explore the coachable opportunity and to evoke Client self-challenges, insights, awareness and commitments.
As your Coach I will facilitate the conversations, but take your lead in the dialogue about goals, aspirations and expectations, what is preventing you moving forward - what needs to change and by when?
At the end of each conversation we will assess if the expected outcome was met, as well as agree accountability for any take-away actions. Coaching conversations are always an opportunity to assess, diagnose, adjust and follow-up on progress towards the overall goal.
